An Easter Wedding

My sister-in-law, Rachael, {whom I've known since I was 12} got married this weekend in Seattle!  Josh and I dropped the kids off at my parents' house in Michigan, then flew out for the wedding.  We had such a great time and are so thankful that we were able to go.

Here are some highlights from our trip:

While the girls had a bachelorette party....

 ....the guys watched the babies.

After the ceremony, we all gathered together for a luncheon.

Rachael's mom even made a special bib for her so she wouldn't spill on her dress :)

Later on it was time to party!

Rachael's oldest sister did such a beautiful job on the wedding cake.

While Josh and I were away, the kids played!  They were in very good hands.

The weekend went by SO quickly but it was all completely worth it.

Spring Break: Day 6

 Kite Flying!
Kylie colored this kite all by herself and has been dying to fly it all week.

And boy, did we pick the perfect day!

The wind did a number on the girls' hair, and by the time we got home I was dying to get my hands on it.  They were kind enough to let me :)

Spring Break: Day 5

Scavenger hunt!  The kids will be at my parents' house for Easter so I wanted to celebrate with them a little early.  I hid a bunch of plastic eggs all throughout the house, each one containing a clue that would lead them to the next egg.  Kylie did a great job reading the clues!

The grand prize: new shoes!

After spending the morning searching for colorful plastic eggs, the girls wanted the real deal.  While Summer and I dyed the eggs, Kylie was on baby duty.

Here are a few other random photos from today:

Spring Break: Day 4

To celebrate our first 70 degree day of the year, we spent the afternoon outside blowing bubbles.  Homemade bubbles-- even better!

In other news, Jackson is 7 months old today!

I could not imagine life without this busy,

independent,

chubby,

MESSY,

angelic little boy.

We sure love having him around!

Spring Break: Day 3

Today the girls could choose between having lunch at McDonald's {and playing in the Play Place} or going to a local park and meeting friends from our church playgroup.  Believe it or not, they opted for the first choice.  But first, we went to the library.

Unfortunately, Kylie forgot to bring a pair of socks so she wasn't allowed to play in the Play Place.  Summer wasn't thrilled about the idea of playing in there without her so we settled for Plan B: the park.  I was surprised {and thrilled} that our playgroup was still there, even though it was hours past the original meeting time.  But about 2 minutes after our arrival, the girls bumped heads while going down the slide and they wanted to go home.  Bummer!  It was so gorgeous out today!

I think it all worked out for the better, though.  Kylie had been complaining of a headache while at McDonald's and she didn't have much of an appetite.  By the time we got home, she had a fever and was feeling pretty miserable.
Despite all of the running around, the kids had a pretty fun day.  Just ask Jackson :)
