Finally, Some News!

In May we received news from Josh's company that we would need to return to Utah in order for him to keep his job. After 2 tedious months of waiting, we finally have some follow-up news!

The News: Although Josh has taken on additional responsibilities since that initial phone call in May, he has now officially been promoted to a Project Manager. The company will allow him to work remotely in Michigan until December 31st, after which we will need to relocate to Utah in order for him to fulfill the position.

The Plan: In a couple weeks we will be moving into an apartment located in Kentwood, one that offers a short term lease. We will stay there until late December and then head out to Utah.

Our Reaction: We feel INCREDIBLY blessed. Part of the reason why this process took so long was because there was restructuring going on within the entire company and Josh's position was just one of the many aspects affected. We feel so fortunate because:
  • Josh still has a job
  • We finally have closure
  • I will be able to have the baby here in Michigan. This means we can keep our insurance, I can keep my doctor, and my family will actually get to know this baby from birth. My parents will get to watch Kylie while I have the baby, which is just an added bonus.
  • We can move into our own place. My parents have been kind enough to let us live with them for the past 14 months. Back in early May we had plans to move into our own apartment, but when we heard that we might have to move to Utah we decided to wait until we heard more information. Then we were in limbo for 2 months, which is an awful feeling for an expectant mother who is in nesting mode. We are looking forward to having our own space again, including a spot for the newest member of our family :)
  • We have time between now and December to work out the rest of the details, such as the best moving method, where to live once we get to Utah, etc.
Thanks for all of your prayers and support! We are happy to finally have news to share with you all.

Pregnancy Update

The following statements apply to this pregnancy:
- I was nauseous 24/7 for 4 months straight
- I was pretty much on bed rest for a month
- I started having heartburn around month #3 and have had it ever since
- I am currently the size I was when I delivered Kylie, yet I am technically measuring on track
- I am 30 weeks and have a long, hot summer still ahead of me
- I can no longer wear my wedding ring
- I'm almost to the point where I can't paint my toenails
- My body pillow is the best $10 I've spent in a long time
- I have gestational diabetes
- I have low iron, which makes me very tired
- I still take anti-nausea meds every morning
- I'm SO ready to meet this little girl!

With statements like these, pregnancy can seem like such a negative thing; however, it is very much the opposite. I feel so privileged to be able to feel my baby's every movement, kick, and hiccup. I had a friend of mine take some maternity/family shots to capture the essence of this beautiful and special time.

He's Home!

This 4th of July is really special because my older brother, Kyle (on the right) is home from Afghanistan and visiting us in MI. Naturally I think of him every Independence Day as he is serving in the Air Force, but this time we actually get to spend the day with him. What better way to celebrate freedom than a beautiful and relaxing day at the beach?
While the ladies relaxed, the guys tossed around a football
I'll update more over the next couple of days. We have some fun things planned as we celebrate the holiday and Kyle's homecoming.
