Poor Thing

This about sums it up
Kylie has been really sick the past couple of days. She is slowly recovering and, surprisingly, in fairly good spirits. I just feel bad for her when she's so miserable. Unfortunately, this means that our plans for Halloween are pretty much shot, but I'm ok with spending time together as a family too.

I put Kylie's hair in a ponytail for the first time the other day.
Her hair is so curly it can hardly stay for longer than 5 minutes... and it didn't. But it was cute while it lasted!
Guess what? I MADE THIS DRESS :) I have been wanting to learn how to sew for quite a while now, but I never had the time to learn because I was in school. Now I have plenty of time and a very willing teacher, my grandma. We get together every Thursday afternoon and sew for a few hours.
Kylie's not the most photogenic in this picture (sorry- I took this picture right after church). But that's what it looks like! Now that I know some of the basics, I have all sorts of things I'm ready to try! The dress definitely isn't perfect, but I think it's pretty good considering it's the very first thing I've ever done.

Dressing Up

Another thing Kylie loves to do is dress up. She can often be found wearing hats, shoes, and necklaces that belong to various family members. Today she disappeared upstairs for a few minutes and came downstairs sporting this.

The get-up is complete after popping in a pacifier-- the one she refused to take as an infant.

And the fun just continued...

One of Kylie's favorite things to do is watch "MoMo" (Elmo). Someday we'll surprise her with her very own chair so she'll have a designated spot to watch her beloved show. For now, she seems to be coping just fine with whatever resources she can find.
She's a little big for that bouncy chair!

It Never Hurt to Try

Notice something about these 5 apples?
Kylie decided to sample each and every one (notice the teeny bite marks). It only took 5 before she realized that she doesn't even like apples in the first place.

Oh, the Joys of Bath Time

Everyday I look forward to Kylie's bath time because it gives me a chance to sit down and rest. She's such an active girl so I'll take any down time I can get! There are 2 things I can always count on during this time: 1) She will want her legos so she can use them as cups, and 2) she will make a HUGE mess.

But she absolutely LOVES taking a bath so for now I'll brave the constant water on the floor. The other day she was in there for 45 minutes-- and I had to fight to get her out.
Kylie seems to be picking up on things more and more quickly. When I ask her questions, she knows things that I didn't think she would know the answers to. Bath time is not only a resting period for me, but it's a time when she wants to tell you everything she's learned.

After her bath, I am usually exhausted!! Not because giving her a bath is so strenuous, but because the routine afterward is. She doesn't want to dry off or get dressed, which are 2 things that usually follow a bath :) Thank goodness for Kramer for keeping her entertained while I rest...again. (Sorry for the sideways video-- you get the point).
