Beach Time

The weather was BEAUTIFUL yesterday, so we decided to head out to the beach.

I bought this adorable little hat, and Kylie kept it on for approximately .02 seconds (just long enough for a picture, apparently).

Aunt Rachael was a little disappointed that Kylie doesn't share her passion for swimming. It really wasn't a shock for me-- she has never really been a fan of the water, except in her baths.

Playing in the sand, however, is a different story. She could have played in it all day!
It's not so easy to walk in! She got the hang of it pretty quickly, though.
This beach chair was the highlight of the experience... for Kylie, anyway. She stood on it, ate her snack in it, and even made a little obstacle course out of it. Who knew it would be such a big hit?

I Filled Up My Car With Gas!

I'm sure you're all thinking, What's the big deal about that? Well, I have never done this before... ever, haha.

How is this possible? I never had my own car growing up, so my parents always filled up their own cars. When Josh and I got our car in Utah, he needed it for work so he would always fill up while he was out. Now that he's in D.C., I had to step up and do it.

When I told Kramer my exciting news, he said, "Well, there's a first time for everything." *pause* "Mine was a while ago..."

A Trip to the Zoo

This morning Josh left for Washington, D.C. where he will spend 2 weeks working on a major computer installation. We took a little trip to the zoo yesterday to spend some quality time together as a family. Kylie loved petting the pygmy goats!
We thought that she would really like the aquarium, especially with the penguins showing off for her. But no...

... she was more interested in the stairs NEXT to the penguins.

We shouldn't be surprised, especially when she is so amused by little things like hills anyway :)

In other news, Kylie swallowed a little butterfly barrette about a week ago and it made it's grand appearance in her diaper yesterday. Being a mother is such a glamorous job! I saw her chewing on it and when I asked her what was in her mouth, she swallowed it. I'm only including this little tidbit of information to demonstrate that things are not always rosy in our house. I will accept my "Mother of the Year" award anytime.
p.s. This is NOT the barrette that she swallowed.

"Capo" and "Missin"

Yesterday, Kylie came down with a terrible cold. Thank goodness for children's Tylenol! I'm especially grateful that Kylie enjoys taking "missin."

Even when Kylie is sick, she is just a happy little girl by nature. However, when she does have a moment, popcorn never fails. Last night she was especially tired so we put her to bed around 7:30. Unfortunately she woke up around 11:30--perfectly happy... just wide awake. We brought her downstairs so she could get a little drink of water and another dose of medicine. As soon as she saw the microwave, she wanted some "capo" (popcorn). Oh, dear...
This post would not be complete without a picture of her. I recently put her hair in pigtails, and I'm honestly not sure if I like it or not. She looks too old!
